The main difference concerns the employer-employee relationship:

Transfer company: The employees move to the transfer company after termination and are employed there until further placement. The employment relationship with the original company ends.

Transfer agency: Employees remain employed by the original company until they are made redundant. During this time, TA supports them in their job search and professional reorientation.

A transfer agency is an external company that works with you to offer your employees individual and pragmatic solutions for the time after their dismissal. The transfer agency supports your employees in finding new jobs, gaining further training or qualifications, setting up their own business or retiring.

A transfer company is an independent limited company to which your employees are transferred after being made redundant. The aim of the transfer company is to place your employees in new employment within 6 to 12 months.

Ideally, employees will have found their dream job within 12 months and start a new position.

If those affected have not found a new job by the end of the transfer company, they register as unemployed with the employment agency. They are then entitled to unemployment benefit 1 if the necessary requirements are met. Other options include becoming self-employed or undergoing further vocational training.
